Happy hour, every day from 3-6pm $1.50 Gulf oysters and half off cocktails, beers, and wines I tried the Gulf, Skiff Lake, and Murder Point raw oysters. Of those, I liked the Murder Point best followed by Gulf, but the Gulfs were part of the happy hour special so just go with those. I also got the BBQ oysters (charbroiled, no BBQ sauce) and Peruvian scallop. Scallop was worth trying, but I wouldn't order more than one in a subsequent visit. The charbroiled oysters, however, were the best thing I tried. Service was attentive and engaging.

Indulging in culinary perfection! While perusing menus, I stumbled across Luke & found a certain item on their menu irresistible. Luke is a Creole inspired Brasserie located in the Central Business District of New Orleans on St Charles Ave right outside of the French Quarter. They specialize in some of the most fresh seafood in the city with offerings from their raw bar. What was the dish I absolutely had to try? The Pâté of Louisiana Rabbit & Chicken Livers perfumed with truffles & griddled country bread. First of all, the presentation was unexpected in the best of ways. It was served charcuterie style with giardina, pepper jelly, made in house pickles & okra. The perfect tangy accoutrements for the decadent pâte, which my wife & I both loved. The pâte is rich, savory, salty & a bit smoky. It is one of the best dishes I've ever had at any restaurant I've ever dined at. The Fried Oyster Salad featuring romaine lettuce, Benton's bacon, avocado, tomato & buttermilk dressing was divine. The oysters were lightly breaded & incredibly fresh. Their brininess was balanced beautifully by the bacon, the creamy ranch & avocado. My wife had the Luke Burger featuring Benton's bacon, caramelized onions, tomatoes & Swiss cheese with french fries. She was very impressed with this burger. She ranked it a 4.3/5. She also enjoyed the crispy, skinny fries. I'm so happy we stumbled across Luke. The atmosphere is elegant, yet comfortable. They offer an array of spirits & host a daily happy hour. Service was outstanding. Thank you for being an unexpected treat, Luke. I recommend adding them to your "New Orleans MUST" list. First off...the champagne float should be a regular menu item. It was AMAZING! We had 2 rounds of drinks. The service was decent. We had a service team for where we were seated. Everything came out fresh & in a timely manner. We were able to make a last minute reservation & it was honored. Very upscale spot. The chargrilled oysters were not out of the ordinary. They were good but not great. The swordfish stole the show! With the elote...it was *chefs kiss*. Very fresh and flaky and tasty. I enjoyed every bit of my meal. Didn't make me feel heavy and tired after eating.

What wasn't to like about this spot? Luke has a feeling of an old school fish monger mixed with the fine dining you'd expect. Cocktails were balanced and scrumptious Food was to die for. Service was impeccable. Joe in particular made the night. Happy hour deals are also unbeatable.

Luke was about 10 minutes from the Canal Street Marriott walking, which we achieved and entered the restaurant before the rains came quickly. When we entered we walked into a classy high-ceilinged room with gold ceilings, rich mahogany panels and trim, and hazy circular light covers. The ambiance had a very 30s-style that works very well for when you're going to enjoy seafood, which we did. The one downside to the evening was the slowness in service, mostly from the kitchen, in getting our food over, which I couldn't tell at first if it was just our server or the kitchen. We did receive a drinks in reasonable time, but overall, I felt we waited a bit to give additional orders and receive them. Outside of that, the cocktails were strong but not overly boozy in taste. Cocktails like the CBD and Trigger Warning packed quite a punch to where you knew you could sip them and still have a good buzz as you received your food. The LA Gulf Oysters were fresh and savory, served with a strong horseradish that was certainly stronger than I anticipated. Any congestion that I may have had in my nasal cavity was cleared out immediately... and then some. The crispy brussels sprouts was solid with the Espelette honey and fresh cheese, while I absolutely savored the escargot and bone marrow with the roasted garlic. For the finisher, the jumbo Louisiana Shrimp and Grits were zesty and tantalizing and especially rich, served with roasted jalapeno cheese grits and andouille, green onion sausage that didn't have too much of a bite but plenty of flavor. By the end of our meal, we were more than satisfied and set off back towards the French Quarter, satisified with our orders.

This was the first dinner we had in Nola, and for me it was the best. Luke is a Creole-inspired Brasserie located in the heart of New Orleans' Central Business District on world-famous St. Charles Avenue, steps from the French Quarter neighborhood. The restaurant is sprawling, we sat upstairs looking in at the kitchen. The meal was overall delicious, BUT, it was made with our raw bar starter, the Seafood Plateau ($78.00): 12 gulf oysters, 6 boiled shrimp, tuna tartare, and a smoked trout dip. Well worth the price! We all enjoyed our entree selections: (ME) Seafood Bouillabaisse ($35) with muscles, clams, shrimp and delicious garlic bread. So good, reminded me of my favorite Southern Italy dish, cioppino (WIFE) Luke Burger ($23.00) Benton's bacon, caramelized onions, tomatoes, Swiss cheese with French fries. (DAUGHTER) Jumbo Louisiana Shrimp & Grits ($33.00) roasted jalapeno cheese grits, andouille, green onion sausage. (ALL) Brendan's Bread Pudding ($12.00) hot buttered rum sauce, candied pecans, vanilla bean ice cream. They also make great scratch drinks, we enjoyed the Conundrum and the Aperol Spritz. My group really enjoyed the evening, which included good service from Curtis D.

I ordered the chicken and waffles...delicious but I wish I'd scraped off some of the butter. It was so filling that I didn't need to eat the rest of the day. My husband got a burger, which was huge and delicious. The star of his meal was the cheese grits...so good.
